Millis Schools Digital Product Library
Thanks to all of the PLCs for your hard work last spring when you filled out spreadsheets with the digital products that you use. We've compiled a comprehensive list of the digital learning products that we use in Millis Schools, and it is curated in a Digital Product Library using LearnPlatform.

1. Go to this link:
millisschools.app.learnplatform.com/users/sign_in
2. Sign in with your Millis Google login.
Spend time using the filters to search by grade level, subject area, etc.
3. Choose a product and fill out a rubric to give it a rating.
4. Explore the Library and begin curating your own library of apps.
5. Explore the Learn Community and request apps.

Google and Gmail:

Google Suite Resources
Gmail Resources

Back in the spring, the District began transitioning from First Class to gmail due to sudden and unexpected news from the company that First Class was no longer being hosted for us after June 30th. This required some quick changes on our part, including setting up a temporary First Class email server onsite. The transition will involve several steps over time. Use the above links to get started transitioning to Gmail.

The goal is to have everyone comfortable in gmail as soon as possible, and we want to reassure you that you will still have access to First Class during the transition, and we will provide assistance and training throughout the transition. Sometime this fall we will confirm the date on which First Class will not longer be available for sending and receiving emails. The Tech Team can assist with moving content from contacts, folders, and FC Conferences.

Digital Learning News

Thanks to a grant from MERIT, Millis students have been able to incorporate elements of virtual reality (VR) in their learning. Each building now has a VR kit comprising 30 headsets and equipment that creates a local area network on which teachers and students may “visit” virtually anywhere in the world. Not only that, the VR experience also include opportunities to create virtual tours and projects. Imagine, rather than creating a diorama in a shoebox, now students may create a virtual environment and take their classmates on a tour.

"The VR headsets are a wonderful supplement to the curriculum. They take visual learning to the next level by providing students with a more immersive, engaging experience than just 2D images and videos can offer. My classes thoroughly enjoyed the two trips we took: one to the real life settings of some of Shakespeare's plays, and the other through some of Long Island's mansions that were inspiration for The Great Gatsby."- Mr. Carter, English teacher
